The category of Town Planning Use to which the current or intended Use of a property is allocated, as defined in the Town and Country Planning (Use Classes) Order 1987. This is a Statutory Measure and is subject to periodic variation and updating.

Use Class for a premise can be changed through making a planning application for “change of use”.  This is a specialist area of property and can take a few months to prepare, submit and secure.  Change of Use cannot be guaranteed and particular note needs to be taken of individual Council policy on various Uses within their boroughs.
