With property acquisitions, a proposed purchaser will incur acquisition or purchase costs, as well as legal and surveyor fees, such as VAT and Stamp Duty Land Tax (SDLT)

They are traditionally calculated at 6.00% of the purchase price, on the assumption that the property has a value in excess of £500,000.

This estimate will change over time and as items such as SDLT and VAT rates change.
